Coconut Oil

As all of my blog followers know, I am a MAJOR coconut oil fan.  There are so many health benefits of eating coconut oil.  I was so happy today because my Mom sent me this link to an amazing story done on a man with Alzheimer's and how coconut oil has helped him.  If you are interested, please watch this video and be amazed.  It was very touching.
I have started using it as a face and body moisturizer as well and I love it.  I rub it on my face every morning and night and it feels wonderful.  As you apply, it feels oily but within minutes it has soaked in and your skin looks beautiful.  Try it out and see what you think!  Everything we put on our skin, we soak into our body, so it might as well be something good for us, right :)

YOU MIGHT KNOW SOMEBODY THAT THIS MIGHT HELP

If you want an easy way to get coconut oil into your diet, start with adding it to oatmeal.  It's delicious!!  I bake with it all the time.  My Mom loves it on her toast.  Or like I said earlier, start applying it on your skin!!
Some benefits are:
  • Promoting your heart health
  • Promoting weight loss when and if you need it
  • Supporting your immune system health
  • Supporting a healthy metabolism
  • Providing you with an immediate energy source
  • Helping to keep your skin healthy and youthful looking
  • Supporting the proper functioning of your thyroid gland

  1. Hello I am new to your blog and love it so far. Thank you for introducing the rest of us about your healthy ideas. I don't ever use Coconut oil and therefore do not know where to purchase it. Can you give me some help there? Also, do you have recepie ideas for Coconut oil as well. Thank you so much!

  2. Toots,
You can get coconut oil at a local health food store or online. Just make sure you buy "Unrefined" or Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. Look for it on sale because it can get expensive. It is delicious to add to any food. I have a couple recipes on my blog that incorporate coconut oil. Look for my oatmeal, brownies, coconut buttermilk syrup, blueberry bran muffins, & oat cakes. You can substitute it for butter in most of your baked goods. My Mom likes it spread on her toast in place of butter. It has a mild coconut flavor, but it's delicious :)

  4. Toots,
You will definitely find coconut oil at your health food store. If not it's always online, but make sure you buy the right kind. Not refined. They are starting to sell Organic coconut oil in the grocery stores now, but it says refined on the bottom. Don't fall for it :)
Thanks for your comments. I love hearing from my readers. Let me know how your recipes turn out.
    Thanks,
